Our Teaching Ministry
We believe that Christian faith should engage both the heart and the mind.
Our teaching ministry seeks to explore the riches of the Christian tradition in a way that is thoughtful, open, accessible and relevant to life today. Through preaching, Bible studies and regular discussion groups, we encourage people not simply to accept easy answers, but to ask questions, wrestle with Scripture and deepen their understanding of God and the Christian life.
Our approach is grounded in Scripture, the historic Christian tradition and careful scholarship. We value the historical and cultural setting of the biblical writings and draw upon theology, history and contemporary biblical scholarship to help us hear these ancient texts afresh.
Throughout the year we offer studies on biblical books and major Christian themes, providing opportunities for both experienced Christians and those simply curious about faith to learn and contribute.
Questions and different viewpoints are welcome. We believe a mature faith need not be afraid of difficult questions. Rather, thoughtful exploration can lead us into a faith that is deeper, richer and better equipped for life in the modern world.
At the heart of our teaching is a simple purpose: to help one another grow in faith, understanding and love, and to discover what it means to follow Christ in our own time.
